Roman Shchurenko

Roman Shchurenko is a Ukrainian long jumper born on September 14, 1976, in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk. Standing 188 cm and weighing 82 kg, he achieved one of Ukraine's greatest long jump moments.

Shchurenko won a surprising bronze medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics with a jump of 8.31 metres, one of the most significant achievements in Ukrainian horizontal jumping history. His personal best of 8.35 metres was achieved in July 2000.

His Olympic bronze medal remains a landmark achievement for Ukrainian long jumping, demonstrating that he could perform at his best on the sport's biggest stage.
