Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, born 27 December 1986 in Kingston, Jamaica, is a retired sprinter widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time. Competing in the 60 metres, 100 metres, and 200 metres, she became the most decorated 100-metre sprinter in history over a career spanning more than fifteen years. Her personal best of 10.60 seconds makes her the third fastest woman ever.

Fraser-Pryce is a two-time Olympic gold medallist and five-time World champion in the 100 metres, the only sprinter to win five world titles at the distance. An eight-time Olympic medallist in total, she rose from obscurity at the 2008 Beijing Olympics to become the first Caribbean woman to win Olympic 100-metre gold, then defended the title in 2012. At the World Championships, she won ten gold medals, five silvers, and a bronze. In 2013, she became the first woman to sweep the 100 metres, 200 metres, and 4x100-metre relay at the same World Championships and was named IAAF World Athlete of the Year.

Her longevity was extraordinary: her 2019 world title made her the first mother in 24 years to claim a global 100-metre crown, and her 2022 victory at age 35 made her the oldest sprinter to become world champion. She won the Laureus World Sports Award for Sportswoman of the Year in 2023.
