Ian Waltz

Ian Waltz is an American discus thrower born on April 15, 1977, in Post Falls, Idaho. Standing 186 cm and weighing 122 kg, he competed at both the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics after attending Washington State University.

Waltz achieved a personal best of 68.91 metres in May 2006 in Salinas, California. His Olympic appearances in consecutive Games demonstrated his standing among America's elite discus throwers during the 2000s.

He married Olympic pole vault gold medalist Stacy Dragila on December 12, 2009, creating a unique Olympic couple in American track and field. Their daughter Allyx Josephine Waltz was born on June 21, 2010, in Chula Vista, California, continuing an athletic family tradition.
