Bohdan Bondarenko

Bohdan Bondarenko is a Ukrainian high jumper born on 30 August 1989 in Kharkiv. Standing 1.98 metres tall, he is one of the tallest athletes to compete on the elite Diamond League circuit.

He uses the Fosbury Flop technique, jumping off his right leg. Bondarenko's career highlights include winning the 2013 World Championship title, the 2014 European Championship, and claiming an Olympic bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Games.

On 14 June 2014, he achieved his personal best of 2.42 metres at the IAAF Diamond League event in New York City, a jump that equaled the European record and placed him joint third on the men's all-time list, behind Javier Sotomayor and Mutaz Essa Barshim and tied with Patrik Sjoberg. His indoor best stands at 2.27 metres.
