Barshim won World Championship gold three times, at the 2017 London, 2019 Doha, and 2022 Eugene editions. At the Olympics, he shared the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Games, holds two silver medals from London 2012 (upgraded after a disqualification) and Rio 2016, and earned a bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
