Sophie O'Sullivan

Sophie O'Sullivan is an Australian-born Irish middle-distance runner born in 2001. She competes in the 800 metres and 1500 metres, winning medals at European championships at both youth and under-23 levels.

O'Sullivan won silver in the 800 metres at the 2018 European Athletics U18 Championships in Gyor, Hungary, and gold in the 1500 metres at the 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships in Espoo, Finland. She competed collegiately for Washington Huskies, winning the 2025 NCAA outdoor 1500 metres championship in Eugene, Oregon, in her final race for Washington.

As a European U23 champion and NCAA champion, O'Sullivan has demonstrated her ability to win at the highest levels of age-group and collegiate competition. Her Irish representation with Australian roots reflects the international nature of modern athletics.
