Desi Jisa Mokonin

Desi Mokonin is a Bahraini long-distance runner originally from Ethiopia, born on July 12, 1997. She competes in distance events on the track and cross country, representing Bahrain at major international championships.

Mokonin competed in the women's 10,000 metres at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics, finishing 15th with a time of 31:55.34. She also competed in the senior women's race at the 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus, Denmark, where she finished 28th.

As a World Championships competitor in both track and cross country events, Mokonin has established herself among Bahrain's top distance runners. Her performances at major international championships reflect her consistent competitiveness at the highest level of women's distance running.
