Moon won the gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, establishing herself as the world's best in the event. She followed this with back-to-back gold medals at the 2022 and 2023 World Athletics Championships, sharing the 2023 title with Australian Nina Kennedy. In 2025, she became the first woman to win three consecutive world pole vault titles.
