
Christian Taylor
Christian Taylor, born June 18, 1990, is a retired American triple jumper whose personal best of 18.21 meters ranks second on the all-time list. A versatile athlete, he also competed in the long jump and sprints, with bests of 8.19 meters and 45.07 seconds in the 400-meter dash respectively.
Taylor was a dominant force in the triple jump for nearly a decade. He burst onto the world stage at the 2011 World Championships, winning gold with the tenth best jump in history. He then won back-to-back Olympic gold medals at the 2012 London Games and 2016 Rio Games, and captured four World Championship titles in 2011, 2015, 2017, and 2019. In college at the University of Florida, he won consecutive NCAA Indoor and Outdoor titles in 2010 and 2011.
Beyond his competitive achievements, Taylor founded The Athletics Association in 2019, an independent organization advocating for the rights of professional track and field athletes worldwide.
