Melissa Jefferson is an American sprinter born on 21 February 2001 who has established herself as one of the fastest women in the world. She is a five-time World Champion and the reigning individual World Champion in both the 100 metres and 200 metres, having claimed those titles at the 2025 World Championships.

At the 2025 World Championships, Jefferson achieved the sprint triple by winning gold in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay, becoming the first American woman and only the second woman ever to accomplish this feat, after Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in 2013. She also won the bronze medal in the 100 metres at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Jefferson has been a key member of the United States relay squad, winning 4x100m relay gold at the 2024 Olympic Games as well as at the 2022 and 2023 World Athletics Championships and the 2024 World Athletics Relays.
