
Johannes Vetter
Johannes Vetter (born March 26, 1993) is a German javelin thrower from Dresden, Germany. He is one of the premier javelin throwers of his generation, known for his exceptional throwing power and technical ability in the event.
Vetter won the gold medal at the 2017 World Championships, establishing himself on the world stage. His personal best of 97.76 metres stands as the German record and places him second on the all-time world list, behind only the legendary Jan Zelezny. He trains under coach Boris Obergfoll as a member of LG Offenburg's track and field squad, having previously competed for SV Saar 05 Saarbrucken and Dresdner SC.
Vetter's near-98-metre throw places him in rarefied air in the history of javelin throwing. His combination of raw power and consistency at the top level has made him one of the most formidable throwers in the modern era of the sport.
