Tony Cosey

Anthony Cosey is an American former long-distance runner and steeplechase specialist born on October 5, 1974, in Knoxville, Tennessee. He represented the United States at the 2000 Sydney Olympics in the men's 3000 metres steeplechase.

Cosey demonstrated versatility across distance events throughout his career. He competed at multiple World Cross Country Championships, finishing 36th in the long race at the 1999 edition and 39th in the short race in 2001. His personal best times included 7:54.67 in the indoor 3000 metres, 13:51.03 in the 5000 metres, and 8:21.41 in the 3000 metres steeplechase, the latter achieved at the 2000 Olympic Trials in Sacramento.

After retiring from competition, Cosey established himself as a businessman and coach in his hometown of Knoxville. He founded Cosey Financial Services and now coaches nationally and state-ranked high school track and cross country runners, passing on his expertise to the next generation.
