Lyudmila Andonova is a retired Bulgarian high jumper, born on May 6, 1960, in Novocherkassk. Standing 177 cm tall and weighing 60 kg, she rose to prominence as one of the finest high jumpers of the 1980s.

Andonova reached the pinnacle of her event in 1984 when she broke the world record with a clearance of 2.07 metres. That same year, her outstanding performances earned her dual recognition as both the Bulgarian Sportsperson of the Year and the BTA Best Balkan Athlete of the Year.

She represented Bulgaria on the Olympic stage at two Games, competing in Seoul in 1988 and Barcelona in 1992. Her world record-breaking performance and sustained excellence at the international level secured her place among the most accomplished high jumpers in Bulgarian athletics history.
