Jarred Rome

Jarred Rome was an American discus thrower born on December 21, 1976, in Seattle, Washington, who passed away on September 21, 2019. Standing 195 cm and weighing 145 kg, he achieved a personal-best throw of 68.76 metres on August 7, 2011, in Chula Vista.

Rome graduated from Boise State University in 2000 and was inducted into the Boise State Hall of Fame in 2007 in recognition of his athletic achievements. His throwing ability placed him among the elite American discus throwers of his generation.

Following his competitive career, Rome became the throws coach at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts, passing on his expertise to the next generation of American throwers. His dedication to both competing and coaching reflected a lifelong commitment to the sport of track and field.
