Ruth Chepngetich is a Kenyan road runner born on 8 August 1994 who holds the women's world record in the marathon. She was the first woman in history to break both the 2:11 and 2:10 barriers in the marathon distance.

Chepngetich won the 2019 World Championships marathon title and is a three-time Chicago Marathon champion, winning in 2021, 2022, and 2024. It was at the 2024 Chicago Marathon that she set the marathon world record. She also holds the sixth-fastest women's half marathon mark of all time, with a time of 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 2 seconds set at the Istanbul Half Marathon.

Chepngetich is currently serving a three-year doping ban set to expire in April 2028.
