HOW IT WORKS · REAL DATA

How your rank is computed

01

Pick your event and mark

19 events from the 100m to the marathon, plus jumps and throws, men and women. Times accept SS.xx, M:SS or H:MM:SS; field events take meters.

02

Narrow the scope

Filter by country, by season, and by indoor or outdoor to compare yourself against exactly the group you care about.

03

Read your rank

We place your mark among every matching personal best and show your exact rank, the nearest professional athletes, and the best mark in that scope.

THE DATA

What this rank really means

This is not a formula-based estimate. It queries the personal bests of 880,000+ athletes with a World Athletics profile and returns your exact position among them, filtered the way you choose.

Country reflects the nationality recorded by World Athletics, and a season scope uses that year's season bests rather than lifetime personal bests. Data updates daily with new results.

FAQ

Where would I rank? — FAQ

We compare your mark against every personal best in our database that matches your event and gender, plus any country, season, or indoor filter you set, then count how many are better.

A season scope compares you only against that year's season bests, a smaller and often faster pool than the full all-time database, so the same mark can rank differently from one season to another.

Yes. Toggle indoor to compare against indoor personal bests instead of outdoor. Outdoor is the default because it is the larger, more competitive pool.

Smaller countries have fewer athletes with a World Athletics profile, so the comparison pool shrinks accordingly. Your rank stays exact within that pool.

No. World Athletics' own world rankings are points-based and weight competition level and recency. This tool ranks raw personal bests against our database.
