Mostafa Amr Ahmed Ahmed Hassan is an Egyptian shot putter born on December 16, 1995, in Cairo. He holds the Egyptian national record in the shot put both indoors and outdoors, establishing himself as his country's greatest thrower in the event.
Hassan finished in the top 8 at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo and has competed at three World Championships in 2015, 2017, and 2019. During his collegiate career at Colorado State University, he won the 2017 NCAA Division I indoor shot put title and captured two national championships for the Rams. On March 16, 2023, he set the Egyptian record with a throw of 21.65 metres.
As Egypt's national record holder and an Olympic finalist, Hassan stands as a pioneer for Egyptian throwing events. His success at the NCAA and international levels has raised the profile of shot put in Africa and demonstrated that Egyptian athletes can compete with the world's best in field events.
