Mónica Vargas is a Costa Rica middle-distance runner, born on April 9, 1981. He competes primarily in the 800m, 1500m and 5000m.
His personal bests include 2:10.68 in the 800m, 4:35.91 in the 1500m, 18:03.44 in the 5000m, 11:24.63 in the 3000mSt and 3:50.97 in the 4x400m. He has earned 12 gold medals in major international competitions. He is currently active on the international athletics circuit, representing Costa Rica.
