Christian Cantwell is an American shot putter born on September 30, 1980, in Jefferson City, Missouri. Standing 193 cm tall and weighing 154 kg, he is a World Champion in the event.

Cantwell won a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and finished fourth at the 2012 London Olympics. His World Championship victory established him among the all-time greats in American shot putting.

His consistent performances at major championships, including Olympic and World medals, cemented his legacy as one of the premier shot putters of his generation, continuing America's proud tradition in the event.
