Marion Jones, born on 12 October 1975 in Los Angeles, United States, is an American former track and field athlete and professional basketball player.

She was one of the most celebrated sprinters of her era, winning three gold medals and two bronze medals at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, though she was later stripped of all five medals. Jones admitted to lying to federal investigators about her use of performance-enhancing drugs and was one of the highest-profile athletes linked to the BALCO scandal.

Before her track career, she was a standout basketball player at the University of North Carolina, where she won the NCAA championship in 1994. She later played two seasons as a point guard for the Tulsa Shock in the WNBA.
