Jason Smoots

Jason Smoots is an American sprinter born on July 13, 1980, in Gadsden, Alabama. He specializes in the 100 metres and has achieved significant success in relay events at major international competitions.

Smoots won 4x100 metre relay gold at both the 2002 and 2006 IAAF World Cups. In 2002, he teamed with Jon Drummond, Kaaron Conwright, and Coby Miller, while in 2006 he joined Kaaron Conwright, Wallace Spearmon, and Tyson Gay to set a championship record of 37.59 seconds.

His personal bests include 10.01 seconds in the 100 metres, achieved in August 2006 in Rieti, and 6.53 seconds in the 60 metres from January 2005 in Boston. He has also run 20.97 seconds in the 200 metres. His relay contributions have made him a valuable member of American sprint teams.
