Hagos Gebrhiwet

Hagos Gebrhiwet, born on 11 May 1994, is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who ranks as the second-fastest man of all time in the 5000 metres.

He won the bronze medal in the 5000 m at the 2016 Summer Olympics and the gold medal in the 5 km at the 2023 World Road Running Championships.

He has also won silver and bronze medals at the World Athletics Championships. A talented junior athlete, Gebrhiwet won gold in the junior race at the 2013 World Cross Country Championships, signalling early on the potential that would carry him to the top tier of global distance running.
