Dave Johnson

Dave Johnson is a former American decathlete born on April 7, 1963, in Missoula, Montana. Standing 190 cm, he won the bronze medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and was part of Reebok's famous "Dan & Dave" advertising campaign.

Johnson grew up in Montana and Corvallis, Oregon. The "Dan & Dave" campaign with fellow decathlete Dan O'Brien generated enormous publicity leading up to the 1992 Olympics. Despite O'Brien's failure to qualify, Johnson went to Barcelona and captured bronze in the decathlon.

After retiring from competition, Johnson became a school teacher and administrator, serving as athletic director of Corban University in Salem, Oregon, starting in 2009. He later worked with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Oregon and now coaches pole vault and hurdles at South Salem High School.
