Ato Stephens is a sprinter from Trinidad and Tobago born on June 19, 1979, who specializes in the 400 metres. He is married to Cydonie Mothersille, a sprinter who competes for the Cayman Islands.

Stephens won the 1999 NCAA Division I Indoor 400 metres title while competing for the Clemson Tigers, clocking 46.11 seconds. He earned medals at the CAC Championships, including bronze in 2003 and silver in 2005. His international career included three Olympic appearances in 2000, 2004, and 2008, as well as World Championships in 2001, 2005, and 2007, where he reached the semifinals in 2007.

Coached by Henry Rolle, Stephens has also represented Trinidad and Tobago in the 4x400 metres relay. His fourth-place semifinal finish at the 2006 Commonwealth Games demonstrated his consistency at major championships.
