Barbora Špotáková

Barbora Špotáková, born 30 June 1981 in Jablonec nad Nisou, is a former Czech javelin thrower widely regarded as one of the greatest in the history of the event.

She dominated women's javelin for over a decade with a combination of technical precision and remarkable consistency at the highest level. Špotáková is a two-time Olympic champion and three-time World champion.

She also holds the current world record with a throw of 72.28 metres, set in September 2008, surpassing the previous mark held by Osleidys Menéndez. Her ability to deliver her best performances on the biggest stages defined her career and cemented her legacy as the most decorated javelin thrower of her generation.
