
Dilshod Nazarov
Dilshod Nazarov is a Tajik track and field athlete born on May 6, 1982, who specializes in the hammer throw. He made history by winning Tajikistan's first-ever Olympic gold medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games, cementing his status as a national sporting icon.
Nazarov has represented his country at four Olympic Games in 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016, and competed at seven World Championships in Athletics from 2005 to 2017. His greatest successes came at regional competitions, where he won medals at four consecutive Asian Athletics Championships and claimed hammer throw gold at the Asian Games in 2006, 2010, and 2014. He also earned a silver medal at the 2010 IAAF Continental Cup, his first global medal.
