Baboloki Thebe
BOTMenBaboloki Tirelo Thebe is a Botswana sprinter born on March 18, 1997, in Ramonaka. He specializes in the 400 metres and emerged as one of Africa's most promising quarter-milers with his breakthrough performances in 2016.
Thebe won a silver medal in the 200 metres at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics and reached the semi-finals at the 2014 World Junior Championships. In May 2016, he ran 44.22 seconds in the 400m, placing him third on global seasonal lists and moving him into the all-time top 30 for the event. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and his personal best of 44.02 seconds was set in July 2017.
As one of Botswana's premier sprinters, Thebe has helped establish his country as a force in 400m running. His world-class times and Olympic experience demonstrate the growing strength of athletics in Botswana and serve as inspiration for future generations of African sprinters.
