Hitomi Niiya is a Japan middle-distance runner, born on February 26, 1988 in Sōja-shi, Japan. Standing 1.65 m and weighing 44 kg, She competes primarily in the 1500m, 3000m and 5000m.

Her personal bests include 4:20.14 in the 1500m, 9:09.27 in the 3000m, 14:55.83 in the 5000m, 30:20.44 in the 10000m and 1:06:38 in the Semi. She has earned 3 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals in major international competitions. She is currently active on the international athletics circuit, representing Japan.
