Anthony Dees is an American former hurdler born on August 6, 1963, in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Standing 193 cm tall and weighing 90 kg, he won an Olympic silver medal and competed at the highest level for nearly two decades.
Dees won silver at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics behind Mark McKoy and earned World Indoor Championship bronze medals in both 1993 and 1997. He also finished eighth at the 1993 World Championships and fourth at the 1999 World Championships. A five-time indoor national champion in the 60-meter hurdles, he was ranked among the world's top three in the 110-meter hurdles from 1991 to 1993. He attended the University of Mississippi and was later inducted into the Ole Miss track hall of fame.
Dees continued competing into his late thirties, posting a 7.37-second 60-meter hurdles time at age 38. However, his career ended with anti-doping violations, receiving a lifetime ban after testing positive for nandrolone twice, first at the 2001 USA Indoor Championships and again during his subsequent suspension.
