
Will Claye
Will Claye is an American track and field athlete, born on June 13, 1991, in Phoenix, Arizona. He specializes in the long jump and triple jump, and with a personal best of 18.14 meters in the triple jump, set in 2019 in Long Beach, he ranks as the fourth best triple jumper of all time.
Claye has achieved remarkable success on the global stage. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he won a bronze medal in the long jump and a silver medal in the triple jump, becoming one of the rare athletes to medal in both horizontal jumps at the same Games. He repeated his silver medal performance in the triple jump at the 2016 Olympics in Rio. On the indoor circuit, Claye captured gold medals at both the 2012 and 2018 World Indoor Championships. He also earned a bronze medal at the 2011 World Championships.
Before his professional career, Claye was a two-time Arizona high school champion in the triple jump, setting a state record of over 50 feet. He went on to compete collegiately at the University of Oklahoma and later the University of Florida, building the foundation for one of the most decorated careers in American jumping history.
