Kurt Roberts

Kurt Roberts is an American shot putter born on February 20, 1988, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Standing 191 cm and weighing 127 kg, he was a late starter in the sport who achieved success at the NCAA Division II level with Ashland University.

Roberts won three collegiate titles, taking one at the NCAA Men's Division II Outdoor Championships and two at the Indoor Championships. His 2010 performance of 19.80 metres remains the best by any NCAA Division II athlete. He won gold at the 2010 NACAC Under-23 Championships.

His personal best of 21.50 metres, set while taking second at the 2014 USA Indoor Championships, demonstrated his progression to elite national-level competition. Roberts's journey from Division II star to national-level contender showcased his development in one of track and field's most demanding power events.
