Justin Gatlin, born February 10, 1982, is a retired American sprinter who competed in the 60 meters, 100 meters, and 200 meters. With a personal best of 9.74 seconds in the 100 meters, he ranks among the fastest men of all time and is the most decorated 100-meter sprinter in global championship history, with eight combined Olympic and World Championship medals in the event.

Gatlin won the 2004 Olympic gold medal in the 100 meters and claimed World Championship titles in the 100 meters in 2005 and 2017, as well as the 200 meters in 2005. He added two World Indoor titles in the 60 meters in 2003 and 2012, and won the 4x100 meters relay gold at the 2019 World Championships. A five-time Olympic medalist and 12-time World Championship medalist overall, he also earned three consecutive Diamond League titles in the 100 meters from 2013 to 2015. His career was interrupted by doping suspensions in 2001 and 2006, but he returned to competition in 2010 and continued performing at the highest level well into his mid-thirties.

At age 34, Gatlin became the oldest man to win an Olympic medal in a non-relay sprint event at the 2016 Games, and at 35, he captured the 2017 World Championship title. He retired on his 40th birthday in 2022.
