Jonathan Johnson is an American middle-distance runner born on March 5, 1982, in Abilene, Texas. He specialized in the 800 metres and qualified for the 2004 Athens Olympics, becoming the first-ever Olympian for Texas Tech.

Johnson had a stellar collegiate career, winning the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials with a personal best of 1:44.77 minutes. He won multiple Big 12 Conference and NCAA Regional championships. At the Olympics, he advanced through his initial heat but was eliminated in the semi-final.

His lifetime best of 1:44.69 minutes was set at the Night of Athletics meet in Heusden-Zolder in 2007. Johnson trained with Team Reebok in Orlando and competed extensively in Europe throughout his career. He finished fourth at the 2007 USA Outdoor Championships but did not make a second Olympic team.
