Floyd Heard is an American retired sprinter born on March 24, 1966, in West Point, Mississippi. Standing 178 cm and weighing 71 kg, he set the 1986 world's best year performance in the 200 metres and won the 1987 Pan American Games title.

Heard clocked 20.12 seconds on July 7, 1986, at a meet in Moscow for that year's world best time. His personal best of 19.88 seconds came at the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials in Sacramento, the race where Michael Johnson and Maurice Greene both pulled up injured. At age 34, Heard finished second behind John Capel, becoming the oldest sprinter to make his first American Olympic team.
