
Femke Bol
Femke Bol is a Dutch track and field athlete, born on February 23, 2000, in Amersfoort, Netherlands. She competes in hurdling and sprinting, having specialized in the 400 metres hurdles through 2025. She is a two-time World Champion in the 400 metres hurdles (2023 and 2025), the 2024 World Indoor Champion in the 400 metres, and an Olympic champion with the Dutch mixed relay team at the 2024 Games.
Bol holds the world record in the 400 metres short track (49.17 seconds), the European record in the 400 metres hurdles (50.95 seconds, the second-fastest time ever), and the European record in the mixed 4x400 metres relay (3:07.43). She has amassed four Olympic medals, eleven World Championship medals across outdoor and indoor competition, and twelve European Championship medals. She was ranked world No. 1 in the 400 metres hurdles from 2021 to 2025 and was named European Athlete of the Year in 2022, 2023, and 2025.
In October 2025, Bol announced her intention to shift her focus to the 800 metres starting in 2026, opening an exciting new chapter in her career.
