Chris Phillips

Chris Phillips is a retired American hurdler born on July 24, 1972, in Crossett, Arkansas. He specialized in the 110 metres hurdles and competed collegiately for the University of Arkansas, one of the premier track programs in the country.

Phillips achieved his lifetime best of 13.26 seconds in the first round of the 2003 World Championships. He advanced to the final but was subsequently disqualified after testing positive for modafinil doping. A month after the World Championships, he finished fifth at the World Athletics Final.

His career demonstrated the ability to compete at the highest international level in the sprint hurdles, though his legacy was ultimately affected by the doping violation at the World Championships.
