
Aaron Armstrong
Aaron Nigel Armstrong is a track and field sprint athlete born on October 14, 1977, in Houston, who competes internationally for Trinidad and Tobago. He is an Olympic champion, having won gold in the 4x100 metres relay at the 2008 Beijing Olympics after Jamaica's disqualification.
Armstrong attended the University of Florida, where he ran for the Gators track team. His international career includes silver in the 200 metres behind Usain Bolt at the 2005 Central American and Caribbean Championships, gold medals in the 4x100 relay at the 2005 and 2008 CAC Championships, and bronze at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. He competed at the 2005 World Championships, reaching the 200m quarter-finals.
At the Beijing Olympics, Armstrong helped Trinidad and Tobago set the fastest qualifying time of 38.26 seconds. Though replaced in the final, he earned gold when his teammates finished second before Jamaica's disqualification. His career exemplifies Trinidad and Tobago's sprint relay tradition.
