Mark Everett

David Everett is an American retired middle-distance runner born on September 2, 1968, in Milton. Standing 183 cm and weighing 70 kg, he won the bronze medal in the 800 metres at the 1991 World Championships in Tokyo.

Everett finished second at the 1992 U.S. Olympic Trials behind Johnny Gray and then defeated Gray at the Bislett Games in Oslo, setting a personal best of 1:43.40. He went to Barcelona as a favorite but did not finish the Olympic final. Throughout his career, he was known for his finishing speed, usually coming from behind on the final straightaway. His distinctive running style featured an awkward arm motion, reportedly from a childhood broken arm.

After retiring, Everett served as head coach of the track and field team at Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama. He later founded PrimeTime Scouting, a recruiting service that helps high school athletes obtain athletic and academic scholarships.
