Hamdi Dhouibi

Hamdi Dhouibi is a Tunisian decathlete born on January 24, 1982, in Kairouan. He is one of Africa's greatest combined events athletes, having held the continental record in the decathlon.

Dhouibi set the African decathlon record with 8023 points at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki, a mark that stood until Larbi Bouraada of Algeria broke it at the 2009 World Championships. He also holds the African indoor heptathlon record with 5733 points, achieved in March 2003 in Aubiere.

His performances at the World Championships and his record-breaking achievements have established him as a pioneer for combined events athletes from the African continent. Dhouibi's versatility across the ten disciplines of the decathlon demonstrated exceptional athletic talent.
