Mike Foppen

Mike Foppen is a Dutch middle and long-distance runner born on November 29, 1996, in Nijmegen. He specializes in the 5000 metres and has established himself as the Netherlands' premier distance runner, holding multiple national records.

Foppen is the Dutch record holder for the 5000 metres outdoors and holds the Dutch indoor records for both the 3000 metres and 5000 metres. He has won seven national titles and has competed at multiple major championships, finishing fifth at the 2022 European Athletics Championships. He represented the Netherlands at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and finished 13th in the 5000 metres final at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

As the holder of multiple Dutch distance records and a two-time Olympian, Foppen represents the pinnacle of Dutch distance running. His European Championship fifth place and Olympic finals appearances demonstrate his standing among Europe's elite 5000 metres runners.
