Mark Crear
Mark Crear is an American former hurdler born on October 2, 1968, in San Francisco, California. Standing 186 cm and weighing 79 kg, he won two Olympic medals in the 110 meters hurdles, achieving a personal best of 12.98 seconds.
Crear's Olympic achievements are especially remarkable given the physical challenges he overcame. He won silver at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics behind Allen Johnson while competing with a broken arm, then captured bronze at the 2000 Sydney Games behind Anier Garcia and Terrence Trammell while suffering from a double hernia. His collegiate success at USC included winning the 1992 National Championship, and he still holds the school record in the hurdles.
After retiring from competition, Crear became a motivational speaker and peak performance consultant, drawing on his Olympic experiences to inspire corporate audiences worldwide. His daughter Ebony followed in his athletic footsteps, competing in hurdles at the high school level before attending Texas A&M University, continuing the family's track and field tradition.
