Kelechi Promise Nwanaga is a Nigerian javelin thrower born on December 24, 1997, in Umuahia. She competes in the javelin throw and has established herself as the dominant force in African women's throwing.

Nwanaga won gold medals at the 2015 African Games and defended her title at the 2019 African Games, establishing herself as a two-time continental champion. She also won gold at the 2018 African Championships and silver at the 2015 African Junior Championships. She finished fourth at the 2016 African Championships and sixth at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Her personal best of 58.15 metres, achieved in July 2017 in Ozoro, set a new Nigerian national record.

As a two-time African Games champion, African Championships gold medallist, and Nigerian record holder, Nwanaga stands as Africa's preeminent female javelin thrower. Her continued dominance at the continental level has elevated Nigerian throwing events to new heights.
