Joe Dial is an American former pole vaulter born on October 26, 1962, in Marlow, Oklahoma. He achieved a personal best of 5.96 meters in June 1987 in Norman, Oklahoma, and won bronze at the 1989 World Indoor Championships in Budapest.

Dial was named Track and Field News High School Athlete of the Year in 1981 while competing for Marlow High School. He attended Oklahoma State University and was inducted into the OSU Hall of Fame in 2002. His competitive success established him as one of America's top vaulters during the 1980s.

After retiring from competition, Dial built an impressive coaching career. He served as head coach of men's and women's track and cross country at Oral Roberts University from 1993 to 2022, coaching 50 All-Americans and winning four national championships. In July 2022, he was hired as head coach of Jenks High School's boys' cross country and track programs.
