
Darvis Patton
Darvis Patton is a retired American sprinter born on December 4, 1977, in Dallas, Texas. Standing 183 cm and weighing 79 kg, he was a two-time U.S. Champion in the 200 metres and a versatile athlete who also excelled in the 100m and long jump.
Patton won silver in the 200 metres at the 2003 World Championships and achieved major relay success, winning World Championship gold medals in the 4x100 metres in 2003 and 2007, plus Olympic silver in 2004. He also suffered relay misfortune with disqualifications at the 2008 Olympics and 2009 and 2011 World Championships. After injuries in 2005-2006, he shifted focus to the 100m, reaching Olympic and World Championship finals.
His personal bests include 9.89 seconds in the 100m, placing him among the top ten fastest Americans ever, along with 20.03 in the 200m and 8.12 metres in the long jump. He was a three-time Olympian and four-time World Championship participant, demonstrating remarkable longevity at the elite level.
