
Alvin Harrison
Alvin Harrison is an American former sprinter born on January 20, 1974, in Orlando, Florida. Standing 188 cm and weighing 80 kg, he won gold medals in the 4x400 metres relay at both the 1996 and 2000 Olympics and silver in the individual 400 metres in 2000.
Harrison's success in the relay made history at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, where he and his identical twin brother Calvin became the first twins to compete and win Olympic gold medals together on the same relay team since the modern Olympics began. Alvin ran the first leg while Calvin ran the third.
His combination of two relay gold medals and an individual Olympic silver medal establishes Harrison among the most decorated American 400-metre runners of his era. His achievements alongside his brother created a unique chapter in Olympic history.
