Thomas Jacob Freeman

Thomas Freeman is an American hammer thrower born on November 5, 1980, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He competed at the 2009 World Outdoor Championships and was named Track and Field News High School Athlete of the Year in 2000.

Freeman grew up in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, and attended Bishop Hendricken High School, where his talent was recognized with the national high school athlete of the year award. He developed into an elite hammer thrower capable of competing at the World Championships level.

His career was affected by anti-doping violations. In 2011, he was suspended by USA Track and Field for testing positive for tetrahydrocannabinol. It was his second violation, having previously tested positive for the same substance in 2009. These suspensions interrupted what had been a promising career in the hammer throw.
