Joe Greene is an American long jumper born on February 17, 1967, at Wright-Patterson Air Base in Dayton, Ohio. Standing 183 cm and weighing 70 kg, he won bronze medals at both the 1992 and 1996 Olympics.

Greene attended Stebbins High School in Riverside, Ohio, and Ohio State University. At the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the 1996 Atlanta Games, he won bronze in the long jump, with both competitions won by Carl Lewis. His back-to-back Olympic bronze medals demonstrated his consistency at the international level.

Greene became one of only a few American long jumpers to medal at consecutive Olympics. His bronze medals at two Olympic Games, competing against the legendary Carl Lewis, established him as one of the premier American horizontal jumpers of his era.
