Getaneh Molla

Getaneh Tamire Molla is an Ethiopian long-distance runner born on January 10, 1994. He competes over distances up to 10K and won the gold medal in the 5000 metres at the 2015 African Games, establishing himself as one of Ethiopia's premier distance runners.

Molla won the 5000 metres title at the 2015 Ethiopian Championships, earning his spot on the national team for the African Games where he became champion. He defended his national title in 2016 and won the Jan Meda Cross Country. At the 2016 African Championships, he finished fourth in the 5000 metres and led Ethiopia to team bronze in cross country.

Molla capped his year with a win at the Silvesterlauf Trier and opened the new year victorious at the Cross Ouest-France. His victories over established Ethiopian stars like Ibrahim Jeilan and Imane Merga demonstrate his standing among Ethiopia's elite distance runners.
