Anita Włodarczyk, born 8 August 1985 in Rawicz, Poland, is a hammer thrower widely considered the greatest in the history of the women's event.
She was the first woman ever to throw the hammer beyond 80 metres and currently holds the world record at 82.98 metres. Włodarczyk is a three-time consecutive Olympic champion, winning gold at the 2012 London, 2016 Rio, and 2020 Tokyo Games.
Her dominance of the event over more than a decade is unmatched. She was voted the Polish Sports Personality of the Year in 2016 and received the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 2021 in recognition of her outstanding achievements in sport.
