Russ Buller is an American former pole vaulter born on September 10, 1978. Raised in Westlake, Louisiana, he became the most successful pole vaulter in Louisiana State University history.
Buller won both the indoor and outdoor NCAA Division I championships in 2000, becoming a seven-time All-American and six-time SEC champion. He won the 2006 USA Outdoor Championships, finishing ahead of Olympic silver medalist Toby Stevenson. He finished second to Stevenson at the 2003 Pan American Games.
His career included appearances at the 2001 World Championships, fourth place at the 2001 Summer Universiade, and fifth at the 2006 IAAF World Cup. His dominance at LSU established the foundation for the program's continued success in the pole vault.
